Batman: Court of Owls and The Hobbit Battle of Five Armies Teaser Reaction (vids)

Hey guys!

So I've been taking it easy, cleaning, reading, writing some, and editing for my girl Ray since BookTube-A-Thon ended. I've been so grateful for every day that I can sleep in, because trust me, I died during that read-a-thon. I haven't had enough pictures to do another Week in Pics just yet, but I may by Friday.

But the videos have continued on, and I've posted 2 since I last checked in. The first was an arc review, meaning more than one book in a comic series, and the second was my reaction to a teaser for the last of the greatest movie franchise in the history of cinema. Okay, maybe YOU don't feel that way about The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, but *I* do.

So the first one is about why I have 8, yes, EIGHT DC comics in my house thanks to the library. As I've stated before, I wasn't really into Batman, only reading one or two graphic novel bind-ups every few weeks or even a few months. Then I picked up Batman: Night of the Owls. And I was hooked into the New 52, which I wasn't happy about happening when it did (hence why I hadn't touched it yet). Now I've read about 13 Batman Comics in the past 3 months, and am waiting on even more to come on hold for me at the local branch.

So this next vid was filmed on my cell phone, last minute because that's how I roll. No, I gave Ray her camera back for the first time in almost a month, thanks to me constantly reading. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies released their very first trailer, which is just a teaser, but still. Lots of BookTubers film their reactions, so I decided to. It's a tad boring during the teaser, since I can't play the audio or show the footage, only me watching it. But after it ends you see me fangirling hardcore. Seriously, that's my reaction every time, but now I actually filmed it. I was hopping around my house right after. :D

BookTube-A-Thon Announcement and Day 1 Challenge (videos)

Hey guys!

Since I did so horrible with #AYearAThon (my wrap up will be up later tonight), I decided like a maniac to do BookTube-A-Thon, another week long readathon with book and video challenges! o_o' Yeah, I'm that crazy!

So here's my announcement with what I'm currently reading, minus The Two Towers, as I did NOT finish it (again, more on that in my wrap up going up tonight).






It's already started, and while I didn't get that great of a start (some people have ALREADY finished their first books! O.O), I'm almost done with Two Towers. But as I mentioned before, there's video challenges. Every day I post a vid in order to meet these challenges. Now there's no prize for doing all of them, so I may not, but I'm gonna try. Speaking of which, I've got stuff to read, so PEACE!!!

Megan's 1st Vid and On My Shelf Videos + #AYearAThon Update

Hey guys!!!

So thanks to monsoon season, I've been having trouble being online for a whole day *crosses fingers cuz today's been pretty good*. That means I've cut back everything, including posting videos!

During storms I barely managed to get up Megan's first video, her doing the First Sentence Challenge! She did pretty good, better than even the creator of the challenge, kimberleyreads!

This video also proves that me, Ravyn or LA Knight, and IK Scott SUCK at counting! Oh man, we're so hopeless! ALL THREE VIDEOS we were SO off with our scores! But with this video, we do have a virdict of which of the three of us did the best with this challenge!

IK Scott (Megan) will have more videos, and she wants them all on my channel. I edited this one, but LA Knight's doing the rest. If they come at all. I think I'll post them towards the beginning of each month, and if Ray can't get them done fast enough I'll just take over.






I filmed this video a while back, but didn't post it because I was filming like a maniac back then. You can tell from how my shelves are just how old it is. I was supposed to upload something else earlier, but the formerly mentioned storms really hindered things. And the other video was just out of date. I'm going to refilm it and get it up in the future, but not right now.

I'm also ill right now, battling a pretty nasty cold. I'm feeling better right now than I have in a while, but Monday and Tuesday I was down. I laid for hours in my be Monday night, trying to sleep, but I couldn't. My body was so sick it wouldn't let me! So if this seems a little off in the editing, I was sick while doing this!






Because of the storms I'm uploading only twice a week. Honestly I do enjoy this schedule more, giving me a rest to just read and do other things instead of constantly worrying about being on time with my videos.

This week is #AYearAThon, and this illness isn't making things easier. I gave up reading Sense and Sensibility for now because my pounding head combined with difficult language made it terribly hard to read. I've moved onto The Two Towers. Speaking of which, I need to get back to read that, so that's enough for now.

Oh, and My Week in Pics isn't coming this week. I'm sick, not much to see, except the amazing disappearing tissue paper!

Bookmans Warehouse Sale Haul and June Wrap Up/July TBR (videos)

Hey Guys!

So I did forget to post about my last video, which was a haul!

Bookmans had a big sale at their Warehouse, which is were I used to shop for cheap clothes as a kid! It was crazy. There was no AC, and all these round tables with boxes on and underneath them. Each box was filled with books, and until you actually looked inside you had no clue what was there. Nothing was sorted, except that childrens and YA were on two or three tables with Shakespeare and other randomness. It was hot, crazy, and full of book, movies and cds. I didn't look at any of the cds, but the DVDs were $2 and you could fill a bag of books for $10. I spent about $50 and got all of this!





This video went live today. It's my June Wrap Up and July TBR. I may finish another comic or two before the official end of June, raising my book count, but I'll mention any change in my July Wrap Up.

Yup, Forgot Again (Videos and Updates)

Although I do have an excuse, I was travelling the whole last half of last week, and couldn't get to YouTube or tumblr. So there.

But I couldn't posted something.

Quick update of things: I've been writing in Glenn's Story some more. I need to go through and look at things because the whole first parts of the book have been from multiple perspectives, but where I'm at now that's not really practical, so I'm gonna go over it again before posting it on Figment. In case you don't know you can read Glenn's Story on Figment HERE!

So I'm still writing, but I really need to take things slowly. My hands have been getting worse, flaring up more often. Sometimes, especially while I was travelling, I wake up from my hand(s) bugging me and have to put on my brace. :(

My Week In Pics: I don't know if I'll continue them. I haven't been taking many pictures lately, mostly due to reading and being online a great deal. I guess I can, but there will be a break from it. Gonna admit, some of it is from backlash of certain person getting in my face about my life. I do share some of it on here, but my life is my business, and a lot of it I don't share. A whole lot of it stays between me and a very few people. In fact a good chunk of the pictures and even the videos I shoot are not shared at all and stay for just me.

But this blog will continue on, regardless of anything. I know only 1 person comments, and so long as she continues to do so, I will continue to post. Just like my videos. Sure, they don't reach a large audience. But so long as I have 1 subscriber who likes my videos I will continue to post. And yes, I'm well aware I have 25 lovely subscribers and I love and am very grateful for all of them. So the channel continues while I can post, this will continue so long as I can post.

I've done three videos since I last posted. Two went up while I was away from the computer (thanks to the awesomeness of YouTube), so not surprising I didn't post about them, and 1 went up 15 minutes ago.





This 1st vid is The Writer's Dream Tag. It kind deserves it's own post, but I don't wanna! >:D It's a tag all about writing and goals and dreams and whatnot. So check it!





This one went up while I was in Phoenix, locked away from YouTube, so it doesn't have many views since I couldn't share it in a timely manner. :/

It's a double review of two manga I truly love, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, and the Anne of Green Gables manga. Nura you can get here in the US, though they hadn't started publishing it when I started reading it, while Anne you can NOT get here. It's in Japanese ONLY. :(





Last video to go up is the BookTube Newbie Tag! I wasn't tagged, but hardly anyone is for this tag, since it's for newcomers to the community. I enjoyed doing it as I'm sharing what my goals and hopes are for this channel. LA Knight did it also, but I don't know when her's is going up. Normally we email each other while she's at work, but she's super busy today, so hardly any chat time.

My latest videos!

Once again, I apologize. I've been super lazy about this blog, with very little excuses beyond carpal tunnel. But my hand's better now, so onto the videos!!!

The first video is a haul! Memorial Day The Friends of the Library once again had their bag day sale. Instead of it being two days it was only one. And with the start of summer, and word getting around about this sale it was bigger than it has ever been! Me and Megan arrived before the doors opened and I could barely park, the line was so HUGE!

People were going crazy! One lady literally grabbed two whole bags worth within the first ten minutes! She just hogged this case and parked herself in front of it until she had as much as she wanted. -_- The worst part was her butt in the air while I tried to look around it.

I got less books than last month, but more movies. Out of the ones I've been able to see all of them work, but I can only hope. Anywho, here's everything! It's long, but I find hauls quite fun to watch, especially since everything was so cheap!





The next vid I did is the longest video I've ever posted! At 33 minutes it's a scream!!!! I had a ton of fun filming it! It's none other than The First Sentence Challenge created by kimberleyreads! Ray and I had a lot of fun, and although I thought I did terrible, I did pretty well. You'll have to watch to learn how I fared against Ray's score!

And Megan has ALSO done this challenge. Her vid's not going up for a while, but it WILL, I promise! :)





Onto the last video, the one that just went live! Told you I was catching up!

I filmed this RIGHT after The First Sentence Challenge. That's why I have raccoon eyes. It's a review about Life's A Witch by Brittany Geragotalis. I heard about this book from a video and decided to check it out. I originally fell in love with it and then...well, you'll have to watch to see! Although I enjoyed it a great deal more than Nevermore, which was the book I had read just before this one.




That's what I've recently uploaded! I'll continue to post a bit more about the BTS for each video on here, as well as continue my monthly favorites, and any writing for W.i.t.c.h. and poetry. I haven't worked on those in a while, but I still will, just going slow because of my hand. -_-

May 14th Mini Book Haul (video)

I posted a mini haul on Tuesday from the middle of May. Alright, it was filmed in the middle of May, but I actually went book shopping on the 2nd. I know, I know, I've got a million videos prefilmed. I'll try to stay on top of my hauls, but they're going up on my 3 vids a week. I can't help it, I love filming!

Speaking of filming, I'm uploading a video tomorrow. Yes, I forgot to post about the video here. Not anywhere else, just here. I'm forgetful, so sue me.

Book Review: Nevermore by Kelly Creagh (video)

So I've commented on YouTube, and made a remark in my giant haul from March/April that my relationship with this book is a conflicted one. I hate it, but there are definitely things about it I do like. This is one of Ravyn's favorite books of all time. So I went in thinking I'd at least like it, if not love it too.

And again, sorry for not posting it on here, I actually posted it on Thursday, but it went live on Friday, since I was super busy, and haven't had a day to relax since then. Right now I'm doing a million things at once, and am totally not relaxing yet. Tomorrow I'm doing nothing. Today though, is the fourth day of craziness.

Find the Word Challenge-Collab with LA Knight (video)

OH MAN! I had the hardest time today! First I woke up to NO internet, and wasn't sure when I'd get it back up. Luckily, it wasn't too long of a wait.

Then I had the HARDEST time trying to edit this video! I finally cut my main video (which was over 14 minutes long!) in half, and suddenly everything worked! Then, right as I was done, my internet died AGAIN! So FIVE hours late, it's up!

This is a collaboration with LA Knight, or Ray. I saw this challenge go through the bigger names of BookTube called "Find the Words" or something like that.

Basically using the first letters of book titles, you spell words out. Each book used is 1 point. You get 5 more points if the word you spell is over 5 letters long. And you can get 20 extra points if the word spelled out is a word in a book title that is used spell that word.

My 1st Book Haul: March/April 2014 (vid)

So I will be trying to edit/write some more this week, but I'm going out of town on Sat (and coming back the same day, FYI), and I'm posting 3 vids this week, so I may only get a page done, so bear with me. Busy week! At least my Institute class has ended.

But I filmed my first bookhaul at the end of April. This was supposed to go up soon after, but again, I prefilm like crazy because I love filming, BookTube, books, and everything else associated with it. But it's editing and uploaded!

BOOKS

Since I started my BookTube channel on YouTube, I've been reading a TON! But out of the 10 books I read, this is one of my faves! It's super short, but super good. Can't wait to get to Bang, book 2!

Anne no Aijou by Igarashi Yumiko

I've been reading this manga since December, and this is the final one. It's only book 3 of the Anne of Green Gables series, but the last of the manga. It's sweet, cute, and the art's BEAUTIFUL! I'll be posting a double review of this and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, so stay tuned for that!

Frozen

I FINALLY SAW IT!!! It's SO cute! Totally worth the hype, it's officially my favorite Disney Princess movie! Yes, it...ties with Beauty and the Beast. Both are about true love, not love at first sight. While I believe in that (my dad was smitten with my mom automatically, such a cute story), it's not really all that true. Love this!

Fullmetal Alchemist

Not sure if I mentioned this before, but I've been rewatching several anime that I adore and haven't seen since high school. FMA is my favorite manga series, and while I've seen all of Brotherhood, I'm missing some of this series. The reason is that it isn't as good as manga or Brotherhood, but I've decided to just power through it and see this, then the movie, then Brotherhood, and then the last movie that can be in both series. And so far, I've been loving it! (Haven't gotten to the weird part yet...)

This song isn't for sale, but isn't a cover. It's actually John Legend singing and playing his song with Lindsey Stirling! It was posted a while ago, but for a good chunk of the month, I kept playing it. And Beyond the Veil. And Shatter Me. Then the album came out and...yeah. Lindsey obsessed!

That was my favorites of this month! Been pretty busy, and things are only gonna get busier, but I'm looking forward to it! After months of boredom, this YouTube channel has been pushing me in new ways. Editing's been taking a backseat, but I'm gonna start working on that more, I promise!

Top Ten Most Influential Books Tag (video)

Hey guys!

It's midnight, making it officially Friday! You know what that means? Yes, a week in pics blog (hopefully I'll have one up tomorrow. Why? You'll see :D ) BUT also a new video!

In fact I decided to talk about my posting schedule. I'll post it here first because I've got some vids prefilmed, like, 6 of them, so it'll be a while before I start adding this to my videos. But I'm going to upload every Tuesday and Friday from now on. I'm doing it backwards right now, but soon I'll start having Tag and Challenge Tuesdays, and Reviews and Rants Fridays. How's that sound? I've got a lot of vids filmed already, and I'm doing at least 1 more on Sat, so expect more soon! I also have two more that I didn't edit that I'll post soon. Remember, LA Knight or Ray was editing for me. I'll do the ones that need to be up soon--like wrap ups and #AYearAThon vids, or when I'm low on stuff. Ray takes a bit because she's creating my openings as she goes along. I can't wait to show you guys the others she's done!

I'll do my very best to not let this interfere with this blog. And in case you're wondering about writing, I kinda wanted a break after Warrior. My hands have been bugging me a lot recently too, not sure why. BUT I will continue to work on getting Warrior ready for review by agents and whatnot (I'm actually waiting on Ray to edit some things, but she's super busy right now. She's moving). And I'm going to continue writing other things. But with starting this channel, helping Ray move, taking an institute class, and other things going on I've ending up REALLY busy. Once Ray's back in her apartment and we got the hang of this editing-filming schedule down I can get back to writing. And once my hand's better.

Sorry for not being consistant about posting on here! Trying to balance life with YouTube, writing, editing and here's a bit of a challenge, but I'm up for it! ONTO THE PHOTOS!

For everyone's birthday (except mine) we went to Bookman's, a used bookstore chain here in AZ. Everyone had $20...except me. I had $5, counting my coupon. This was all the books we wanted, but couldn't get.

And as you can see, I had trouble putting these 3 books back! I could only get one. I knew immediately which one it was, but putting these back, some of which I've wanted for YEARS was SO hard! :(

Saturday was moving day for my best friend Ray. She has over 2000 books! 2000!!! That's CRAZY! It took all day and way into the night to get almost all of them on the shelves! We only did it because my sister Megan really hurt herself, and I needed to be doing something to keep from going nuts. I also hurt my leg, and Ray hurt both of hers doing all this! We're just really out of shape and now Ray and me are fine. Megan will be, she's got an immobilizer on and her leg's already feeling better.

Speaking of Ray, or by her pen name, LA Knight, she won a contest on Figment! Hers is all the way to right. It's based on an event that really happened to her on April Fools, and why she hates pranks. So do I.

And guess who was in my email from Stila? Ingrid! Missglamorazzi loves Stila, and so she got to model for them! :)
