All Hallows Eve (Poem)

So an anonymous request came in on my Tumblr for me to write a poem about October or Halloween. I took the challenge and this came out. It's not along my normal poems (word vomit seems a good description) but I quite like it.

Here's All Hallows Eve!

The wind has changed
A chill is sneaking
Creeping upon you
Crawling through your clothes

Children’s laughter echoes
Dancing among the trees
Catching in the leaves
Twisting in the brisk air

Sweets tickle your nose
Enticing your senses
While the moaning wind
Reminds you

To watch in the dark
And keep your door locked tight

After all
Tis the season

Of All Hallows Eve

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! My Weeks in Pics ~10/12 - 10/31~

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

My fav holiday is here! But while the kiddos are running amok tonight, me and my girls celebrated last Saturday. And instead of doing a special Halloween post like last year, I'm gonna do a special VIDEO, so make sure your subscribed to my YouTube Channel to see it tonight at 7 PM PST!

Anywho, onto what I've done the rest of this month! (Told you I'd be better at doing these!)

I went shopping and picked up a few things. The only thing of note from one shopping trip is the adorable owl chapstick from Forever 21. Not the greatest chapstick, but IT'S SO CUTE! ><
And then I was watching ke-sha Forsaken's book haul where she hauled The Blood of Olympus, and I had to have it. Also had to junk food, because I have the self discipline of a squirrel when it comes to sweets.

I fangirled hard when I found out WhittyNovels was following me on Tumblr.

Halloween decorations started in my room at the beginning of the month, so I could film with it, as well as just look at it. Favorite month and holiday, of course my room is glowing with pumpkins, owls, and whatever else I found at Target. :)

Me and my girls celebrated Halloween already by eating enough junk food for an army (seriously, Ray bought a laundry basket FULL of food!!!!)
Megan was The Tardis from Dr. Who, Ray is dressed as Thea on her date with Loki from her fanfic Darkness There, and Nothing, and I was a knight. I had to pull everything together in less than a day because of a family emergency that had me in Phoenix for about a week.

Went shopping again, picked up some more makeup, as well as Taylor Swift's 1989, Target Deluxe Edition. IT'S AMAZING! I've listened to the whole album about 30 times already, and I picked it up THIS WEEK!

While getting my cd, I found these romance novels. They're so corny, I had to take a picture to chuckle at :D

Had to save this picture from Tumblr. It's a post about reading, and how we need to accept each other and stop judging what others read. Then LA Knight, Ray, reblogged it with those tags. HILARIOUS! :D

Now for my home Halloween decorations. There's a lot, and it took 3 days (mostly because I kept putting some of it off, lol)

This is what the front entryway looks like, just waiting for Trick or Treaters! I have to admit, I do more inside than outside, but that's cuz I don't want grabby little ones to steal the adorable stuffed animals! The hand made witch by my Aunt Jean is with the teddy bears on my dresser sitting in the hallway. My current one is barely functioning, so I needed a new one, this one was free, but I'm dying to fix it up to look cool. When that happens I'll let ya'll know because my room will look very different :)
The reason I have a grim reaper on the other little table that's always sat by the door, in this house and our previous one, is because it's too scary for little ones. More than one parent was holding a little boy or girl in tears when I put it up last, so for the past 2 or so years it's been on the table, so the bigger kids can see it, bu the little ones can't.
And then just some pumpkins my grandfather gave to me (randomly he came home with 7 of them for me!) as well as a few other things are right by the door.

I told you we're lacking in the outside decor! Our door's simple this year because a. can't use the door hanging we have and b. last time I used fake webbing it was full of ants! Had to toss it. So our big spider, my "Are you a good witch or a bad witch?" hanging sign, and a witch picture are all I have to work with.
To light the path for the little ones I have some purple lights (I really need more, only got 1 box ><) as well as a pumpkin sign thingy that we were randomly gifted. And of course, our Trick or Treat giant bows are hanging form out lights outside, as well as our wooden bats are in our tree. I may put up the ghosty, but I haven't a clue where to put him...

Welp, that's it! I'm ready for tonight...mostly. We have a light up pumpkin by the door, but the lights went out, so I need to hit up Walmart down the road for more.

Oh, and if you saw that my car broke down, it was a loose hose. We just put it back on, filled up the radiator, and now it's fine! So I need to get dressed and head to Wallyworld.

Have a fun Halloween!

AND, for something spooky, I'll just post this video here, because it's my fav this time of year!

My Week Pics ~10/27 - 11/2~

Hey Guys!

I've been on a roll with these posts, yay! *Knocks on wood* Now to stay on top of it!

Anywho, so Thursday was Halloween! As I've said, it's my fav holiday with Christmas right behind. So of course me and my girls celebrated it by dressing up then watching some movies! I also have some other pics as well!

Here's the awesome boots I got for about $16 at Ross! I'm super happy because my old black boots fell to pieces on me this past February when I really needed them. So I def needed something, and I really wanted some moto boots. Just what I was looking for, and for a totally great price!

On the same trip where I picked the boots up, I picked up this little guy, Mummy Sock Monkey (yes, that is his name. Kinda a let down for a Beanie Baby, don't cha think?). I wore him from my wrist Halloween night, and he's staying in my personal Halloween decorations, along with my Tiny Beanie Baby bear in a ghost costume :)

Tried out my halloween look, and suffeciently spooked out my cats! They seriously ran away from me! >:D

Look who saw my comment on her video! Lindsey Stirling recorded a new version of John Legend's All of Me, with the man himself! It's really, really well done, so you should check it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwsYvBYZcx4&list=PL53000F201951E566&index=46

When I picked this sweater dress, I immediately shrank it by not drying it properly, but I washed it again, pulled on it, hung it up to dry, and it went back to normal! And don't mind how bad I look, this is try number 4 or 5 to get this pic, so I was frazzled at this point.

The beginning of the Halloween pics! I did mine, Megan's and Ray's makeup. I'm putting some scales on Ray since she was the same type of elf as Prince Zhenjin from her Hellboy 2 Fanfic, Once Upon a Time

The three of us when we were finished! I looked a little creepy, smiling with those stitches...

Ray as a Fae! Look at those scales! And her hair's down, yay!

Megan as a Dead Bridesmaid. She looks suffiently creepy and pale!

And me as the creepy, stitching doll! I didn't scare any kids, but I felt the part, especially when I turned my head and went "Mama?" I gave chills to my friends and brother >:D
We ate too much candy some of which was sugar-free, handed out sugary treats to cute or spooky kiddos, watched lots of movies and just had a blast! Totally love this holiday!

This just happened today. In 3 or 4 days, 265 have pinned this and 51 have liked it! OMG, that's a LOT! Actually, I just checked it again, and it's 285 pins and 57 likes! WHOA!
You can see the rest of my boards and pics here, some of them are for LA Knight, and some for my own writing!

So that's been my week! How was your Halloween? Spooky, scary, or just plain fun?

Happy Halloween!

Hey ya'll!

My favorite holiday is here, and I'm planning on enjoying it to no end with Ray and Megan! We're gonna watch some not-so-spooky movies, eat healthy-ish candy, dress up and just have fun!

But to kick off the best holiday of the year, and the beginning of the holiday season, I thought I'd tell ya'll some stories! My cousins used to ask me to tell stories, scary or not, all the time when we were younger. While they haven't asked in a while, I thought I'd continue that tradition here today!

Now, I have LOTS of stories, most of which are not of my own making, but I'm gonna stick with an experience of mine! A spooky one. I actually have a LOT of ghost stories either first hand, or second hand, but I'll stick with something not so terrifying. Why, you may ask? Because some of them are TRULY terrifying, the stuff of horror films! And I have a few that aren't all that scary at all. But this one is true, and happened to me when I was little.

I've been told my whole life that ghosts are real, because they aren't ghosts, but evil spirits that enjoy scaring people and causing trouble. Some are truly malevolent, TRUST me, and some are just kinda there.

When I was in the fourth grade, I began noticing weird things happening around me. I kept feeling this presence following when I'd was alone in my room, at school, walking home or heading over to my friends. It wasn't there all the time, just sometimes. Once during a test, I felt it. Something kept grabbing my foot, but when I looked down, nothing and no one was there. My teacher came over, wondering if I was cheating, probably, so I told her I kept feeling something, and she told me to ignore it. On my way home, once I heard some voices, but I was alone, or with my brother, but he wasn't talking. I thought it might be a ghost, but my friends called me a liar and told me to ignore it.

One Saturday, I went into my parents room to just chill with my dad. He had a program, about hauntings on, and some of what they were talking about seemed pretty familiar. I told my dad that, and he told that if there was anymore issues to let him know. I got really freaked out when the program talked about this mist appearing in a room, and the person hearing a voice, and having things thrown around. Now, my dad's a priest, so is my brother, though he wasn't at the time. So he kinda laughed it off and was like, "They just need to talk to the Mormons, we'd clear that up real quick."

Freaked out enough, I headed for my room. And the tempearture dropped. And then a mist appeared. And I heard voices. I went into full blown panic room and started yelling for my dad and crying, and I raced to his room, and I told him everything. So he headed for my room and right when he walked in, everything stopped. The mist disappeared, the temperature rose, and it grew quiet. The presence was gone. That's when my dad sat me down and explained just what he was, and told me that if anything happened again, to tell him immediately. If it happened at school, to tell my mom.

But that was actually the end of it, then. It wasn't until...middle school that something else happened.

So that was my scary story for the day. Gotta admit, typing this up has me a little freaked out, but there's nothing here, and I know what to do if something else happens! ^^

Have you guys ever been haunted? Lots of my friends have, in fact the spookiest experiences I had, I shared with 4-6 other people. Let me know your spooky stories!

Happy Halloween ya'll!

My Week In Pics ~10/20 - 10/28~

Yes, I am aware that it is the 28th, but the 26th I spent mostly in town, or sleeping. I was tired after running 20 hrs on 4 hrs of sleep! I can't do that every day! I never really could, honestly, not without getting super psycho and sick!

Anywho, I had a pretty good week last week, in which I continued to find Mighty in my room. I still do, actually. During my nap on the 26th, he was under my bed. I could hear him, but I had no idea where he was!

But onto the pics!

Made some chicken fajitas for my fam! They were super delish!

I FOUND IT!!! Remember this little amazing travel-sized bottle of wonderful hair-fixer? I lost it! I pulled it out for this blog post (http://lorienlobrien.blogspot.com/2013/07/july-favorites-2013.html) but it disappeared! Well, I vacuumed while marinating the chicken meat, and I FOUND IT!!! OMG, I'm super happy! I'll def be using this, this week for Halloween!

Came into my room and look who decided to fall asleep just in the weirdest spot ever! He's so strange...

...Seriously strange! He just comes into my room and lays where ever. Then again, I guess that's what cats do. But he's never liked my room...until now.

My savoir after randomly waking up 4 hrs before my alarm was supposed to go off. I guess it was all the diet Dr. Pepper the day before... o.o'

That was my past week, and Halloween couldn't come fast enough! Just got my decorations up today, and tried out my makeup look for the big night!

...during which I will be home, dressed up all fancy, watching Halloween movies with my besties! Am I crazy? Probably. Do I care? Nope!
