FMA LiveTweet

So, on Tumblr there's this thing, called liveblogging. While you read a book, you blog about your thoughts on certain things, showing via pictures, or typing out quotes that stick out to you. This can be you praising a book, or hating on it. I've enjoyed the few I've seen so far, and decided to try it while reading Fullmetal Alchemist Volumes 1-10 by Hiromu Arakawa.

And then Tumblr stating I'd exceeded my post limit for the day. And there was something like, 3-4 hours left before I could blog anything again. Which was extremely annoying. Since I'd never heard of anything of the sort on Twitter, I took it over there, redoing my first post. However, since it's Twitter, there was the problem of the 140 character limit. I had to keep things short and sweet, and at first had trouble fitting my thoughts with the images. But I managed it pretty well, and livetweeted all ten volumes. I've gathered all the tweets up, saved all the pictures, and now I'm going to show them all to you.

Now there were typos and grammar mistakes I couldn't fix due to the limit, but I've gone through and hopefully fixed them all. Let me know if you find any!

There are a few spoilers here, so if you don't want some info (though I tried not to spoil you guys) then don't read!

Remember, this was also during #AYearAThon last month, which was about diversity, so I talk about that. :)

Day 2 started off with me ranting a bit about the problems in the official translation, especially when put up against the fan translations online for free.

Ugh, the inconsistencies in this translation are killing me. The FANS did better than Viz, and that's saying something!!! #LorRereadsFMA

Those were all of my tweets! I loved rereading FMA, even with the translation problems. It was a blast, and really reminded me of first, the privileges I have just by my skin color, and having the ability to walk. It really is an amazing manga. Edward is such an awesome character. He's disabled, a master fighter, a scientific genius, badass. And he's just one of the many amazing characters. I adore this manga, and rereading it has only deepened my love. :)

books-cupcakes December Book Photo Challenge Week 1

Hey guys!

So as promised, here's the pictures I posted on my Tumblr along with some more details about why I picked them.

WARNING! SPOILERS FOR RAVE MASTER BY HIRO MASHIMA AND RANGER'S APPRENTICE BOOK 3 BY JOHN FLANAGAN

Day 1: Currently Reading

On the left is Cress by Marissa Meyer. Got a tad bit bored with the world. There's the big plot hole brought up in Cinder, as well as some pansy characters who are driving me batty. Want more details? Check out my Cinder Review and make sure to tune in on Friday for Scarlet!

On the right is Clariel by Garth Nix. This is the fourth book released in Abhorsen series, and is a prequel to the trilogy. I just started it (I'm on page 6) but I'm loving it so far. The world is so rich and the characters are fabulous!

Day 2: Favorite Series

I don't have just 1 series. I have two that sorta tie for very different reasons. On the left is The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien. This is the most beautiful series I've ever read. Over and over the language blows me away, making everything else read sloppy or wordy. It's just phenomenal, and it being the greatest fantasy ever really helps.

On the right is The Black Jewels by Anne Bishop. This series is hilarious, heartbreaking, infuriating, awe inspiring, all at once. It really makes you think about gender roles, and how much of it is crap, as well as what we as a people can do to one another. I love it so much and while I have a lot more of Middle Earth to explore, for Black Jewels, that's it. It's over. :(

Day 3: Overrated

I chose Nevermore by Kelly Creagh. While the cover is quite beautiful I can't stand the main character, and the plot is dull to me. I really wanted the fantasy to be all over this book, and it isn't. In fact the best part is the prologue. After that I didn't enjoy it very much at all. This isn't a well known book and not everyone is talking about it, but Ray really built it up for me, and this is a book we were will never agree on. I don't like it, she loves it. It's a favorite for her, it's almost a waste of space for me.

Day 4: Favorite Title

Now I don't have a favorite title. I love books, and I love almost every title I've ever heard. Even 50 Shades of Gray is a good title. So picking a favorite is impossible. HOWEVER this is one book where the CHAPTERS blew me away. In fact, there isn't a single chapter title in this I don't like, and most chapter titles can be strange, not make sense, or just blah to me. These are my favorite. I even had to pause and fangirl over the brilliance of the chapter where Anakin and Obi-Wan are fighting, and it's called Chiaroscuro, an art technique of extreme light and darkness playing against each other. I mean, COME ON THAT'S BRILLIANT!

Day 5: Plot Twist

I actually don't OWN the best plot twists in books that I could think of. BUT THIS. RIGHT HERE. OMG. So basically the group of main characters are using this giant crystal to show one another their favorite memories of people, places, and events. It's sweet, touching, funny, beautiful. It's how Haru learns one member is his brother in law (he saw the marriage AND what happened that night ;) ). And right when the character who's missing her memories steps up, THIS HAPPENS. I gasped and stared in horror at this image for a while, and the ones that followed where just as terrible. Cuz the crystal activated and showed what had been happening while the group was gone. TALK ABOUT A PLOT TWIST!!!

Day 6: Snowflakes

I didn't have almost any Christmas Decorations (my dad STILL hadn't pulled them down) and it doesn't snow here. Like, EVER. But I have this bucket that I pulled out and chose the books that first came to mind when I think of snow. East by Edith Pattou is a fairytale retelling of East of the SunWest of the Moon (I think that's it if not TELL ME RAY). The story follows this girl who is tasked with staying with a bear that becomes a man every night. So long as she can sleep next to him without touching him, or looking at him at night for a year, the spell that changes him into a polar bear by day is broken, and she gets a crap ton of money. She fails, and he's swept up to the far north and she has to rescue him. So lots of snow.

On the right is The Ice Bound Land by John Flanagan, book 3 in the Ranger's Apprentice series. Will and Cassandra have been taken as slave to Skandia (Scandinavia in our world), an icy land, and Horace and Halt have to rescue them or else lose them forever. This takes place mostly in the winter, so lots of working and walking through snow and stuff. :)

Day 7: Happily Ever After

I don't read many books that have this, as I don't read a lot of Fairy Tale Retellings. I could've shown my very beat up copy of The Brother's Grimm Complete Fairytales but I didn't want to. Instead, perhaps the best ending to any series I've ever read is in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Epilogue: Nineteen Years Later. It's sweet, and wonderful.

My Month in Pics ~2/15 - 3/11~

Hey guys!

I know, I know! I promised a week in pics...for a month. Yup, it's been THAT long! o.o" Whoops!

But just as promised, here all they are. There's quite a few, but here's just some of the things I've been up to including my fav meal at any restaurant, my Mi Niditos order!

I went to Bookmans in Feb with my mom, which is my fav bookstore. No underhanded tactics like at Barnes and Nobel, and you can trade in books and other things for credit! This whole purchase was under $25, and with credit was free! YES!

Megan was getting a light headache (turns out she was sick), so she had to wear my sunglasses...over her regular glasses. :)

Headed to Panda Express with my brother some weeks ago and got this as a fortune. I hope it's true! And it teaches patience, which I'm terrible at.

LA Knight was trying to describe a clock face...and this is what she described. BUT the final ver is so cool! Can't wait to talk more about LA's newest novel!

Another fortune from a different restaurant, Peking Palace (fav Chinese restaurant EVER). I hope it's true.

I attended the Gilbert Temple Dedication. Sadly my friends, brother and mom couldn't because of various reasons, but me and my dad enjoyed ourselves. I teared up during the dedication song. Everyone pretty much did.

Can't wait for the one in Tucson!

Mighty's been more and more cuddly and warm to me. He decided to sleep on the space between the bed frame and the mattress of the top bunk on my bunk bed. He was just so happy to be there! Cuddled with him quite a bit!

Been getting my reading on lately, so I picked up some books from the library! I have even more! Look for vids about most of these (not Endgame or Batman).

This past Friday we headed to Mi Niditos, my fav restaurant EVER. Got my normal, 1 order (3) of ground beef tacos and a side of beans. As you can see, I finished it ALL! I waited all day, having only breakfast so I was ready for this dinner!

So that was my past month or so in pics!

My Week in Pics ~12/26 - 1/3~

Hey guys!

So I don't have many pics this week, I was working on a ton of blog posts for ya'll! (seriously, if you haven't noticed, I've done 4 times the regular amount this week, holy crap). But I do have a few pictures for ya!

Here they are!

New Years day is Dillard's largest and busiest sale of the year. Basically if it's on clearance, it's an additional 50% off. Not of everything, but most things! Got a cute purple skirt, star scarf, and cute socks! The tights are the wrong size, so I'm gonna have to return them today or tomorrow.

I also picked up this GORGEOUS ring for $7! Only seven bucks, man! LOVE it! The peach color of the stone will totally go with rose gold, which I'm planning on getting some jewelry in that color for gem show!

Since it's a new year, most are making resolutions. I made some, but this is my main one.

This is the rest!!! Though they're more of goals than a resolution. My main goal this year is finish and publish Warrior. I want to see it on book shelves by this time next year, or it being very close to it!

I know most would start looking for an agent now, but with my carpal tunnel acting up, I don't want to risk the book not being finished on time. I can't sit for 14 hrs and type. In fact I can barely handle 4. But I'm going to do my best to get Warrior done.
