My Week(s) in Pics

Hey guys!

Sorry for not doing this blog sooner, I had a couple things to do, and one more item to take a shot of. I never did get a pic of Menlo, my mom's now closed school, which I'm a little sad about, but whatev's. It just never happened.

But here's my past two weeks in pics!

Have you seen LA Knight's latest vid, her book review of Daniel Water's Generation Dead?

On our way to my mom's school, me and my brother stopped at Taco Bell and picked up some Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freezes. Boy, that was yummy!

This was my mom's door, decorated entirely by her kids! They won an award! Don't you think they deserved it? It's awesome!!!

I got this little bag for ten bucks at Forever 21! I love it! It's got studded ears! Now it holds all my makeup thingies in my purse!

Memorial Weekend, the Dillard's Clearance Warehouse was having a sale, everything 50% off! These $35 shoes were $6

These gorgeous $80 platform heels were only $14

And these $80 printed pants were only $14! My cousins all went at different times, and we all got amazing deals! I'm gonna head back some time this summer with Megan and LA in tow to get some deals!!!

I've been writing in this little guy every night since January 2nd! Want to know more about how it's helped me through bad times? Check my blog post here: http://lorienlobrien.blogspot.com/2013/05/looking-on-bright-side-and-all-that-crap.html

As I said, my mom's school has closed (You can see my mommy in this picture right above, relaxing). And yesterday, the last things to come home made it here. So now the house is STUFFED with her classroom materials. The computer room in particular is very full. Me and LA used to move my laptop in there so we could work together...but until my mom gets to the new school, we're just gonna have to work separately... :(

Along with my mom's stuff came these guys.
I'm obsessed...

Last pic, this is my outfit of the day! I'm wearing my new pants, with this cute shirt and a black tank.

That was my past two weeks. Told you it was busy!

What about you? Did you have a great Memorial Day? Or graduate from High School or College? Let me know!

May Favorites

Wow! How this year has flown by! It is officially summer with May coming to an end. All the kiddies are out of school, and so are the college students. The heat is pounding southern Arizona, and the clearance sales are on at most stores! People are heading out for vacation, and I attempted to go swimming and succeeded in hurting myself.

Hurray for summer!!!! BOO for pain! ><

Anywho, I don't have a lot this month, as I've been mostly packing up my mom's classroom as her school has officially closed. But I did get out and about and have some favorites.

Book

Bleach

Okay, so I've been reading Bleach since it previewed in Jump magazine 6 or 7 years ago. But I stopped reading manga for a while, mostly because I've been reading it pretty steadily for years and years. But man, Bleach is the one manga that no matter what, I'm in love with! It's so well done, and is very clever. The twists happen all the time, and you never really expect them, which is a big thing for me, since I can watch most movie trailers and guess the entire plot (I'm usually right, too). But I just LOVE this manga!

Movie

OMG this MOVIE! So well done! I totally love it, and I love how they make something that's always so innocent, like a snowman, and make it so creepy and evil! Love this movie! Already watched it twice, and I'm probably gonna watch it a third time soon!!!

Food

This pic may look familiar, because I'm in LOVE with this drink! It's the Cotton Candy Frap from Starbucks. The Starbucks I went to knew what this is! Bethany Mota created it. Basically it's Vanilla Bean Frap with a pump of Raspberry. And for those Mormon's and non-coffee drinkers out there, never fear! The Vanilla Bean Frap has no coffee in it, it's cream based! Very yummy!!!

Youtuber

This chicka is Kim Viera. She has an AMAZING voice! You gotta check out her Youtube Channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/KimViera

Video

CL - The Baddest Female
CL is the lead singer of 2NE1. She just released this first single, and I gotta tell you, I've listened to it over and over!
You can watch the video here:

Music

This was hard, because I've been listening to album after album, and discovering song after song! But here's my top three!

1.

Justin Timberlake - Mirrors
Okay, this is one of the coolest love songs EVER! The video is pretty awesome, but this song! I'm addicted, I gotta tell you!

2.

Sam Tsui - Make It Up
I'm in love with this song. Well, the whole album, but this song in particular has been on repeat for me!

3.

Demi Lovato - Warrior
Again, this album is absolutely AMAZING! Very well done! But this song! Helped me deal with my past, as well as the darker parts of Warrior. After working on a sad chap, I listened to this song, and it totally explains what Kana feels by the end. Brilliant, Demi!

That's my monthly favs! What songs, movies or books have you been obsessed with?

Looking on the Bright Side and All that Crap

Okay, so I've been seeing on Youtube, Pinterest, Twitter, and even here on Facebook "how to make yourself happy" posts and whatnot. As someone who battles depression on almost a daily basis, I wanted to put in my two cents, since a lot of these posts look like great advice, but when you're suicidal and having to talk yourself into not doing something permanent to yourself, it's just empty words.

But, there is something small that I was advised to do years ago, that I've been doing this year since January 2nd (pretty impressive, if I do say so myself). That was this little guy:

Yes, it's a thankful journal. I don't know if I said this, but I *really* don't like journals. Sure, it records my life...but more than anything, it records my depression. I've written things down that were important, and left my journal suicidal before. Or homicidal. And I was happy and upbeat before starting anything. So unless I really, REALLY feel like writing, I don't. It just stirs up very bad emotions, and that's all it is. I don't record important events, because I'm more focused on leaving them.

So yeah, journals are a bad thing to me, not a good one.

Bu this little guy, as you can see, is 2.5 in by 4 in~. And all I do is write down five great things I'm thankful for that day. I think it records my day better than anything else, because every major event that touched me is in here, down to every blog post.

And boy, does it make even the crappiest days not seem so bad. Like yesterday and today. I seriously hurt my upper back and I'm in major pain. Can't look down for anything, all I can do is sit quietly in misery. But I *still* found five things to write down in here.

I got the idea from my Young Women's President years ago, when I was like, 17 and crazy. Never did it, not until this year. Basically, you take a small notebook you have and put on the inside cover what this thing is. Mine says:
Gratitude Journal
Each night right before you
go to bed write down at least 3
things that you are grateful for.

I crossed out 3 and wrote 5 next to it. Not because 3 wasn't enough, but because I knew that I would have to reach for 5. And I have. Many, MANY times. But in the end, I go to bed thinking about happy things.

Not that I dream happy things. Normally I have nightmares...anyway, back on topic.

This thing is super useful. And if I can find 5 things to write about when I've had super hard days and mental breakdowns an hour beforehand, sometimes been suicidal most of the day, then you can too. I don't know what's going on in your life, but if you need a lift, you should do this. Yes, it's a chore at first, yes, it's boring, yes, I am writing in this and thinking really hard when I should be sleeping. But it's worth it.

So I challenge ya'll to do this. You don't have to be open about it, you don't have to tell anyone about it. I'm not certain any of my friends or family even know about this thing. I mean, it's next to my bed, but I doubt they've looked inside. (Not sure they could read it, I mean, I wrote when I went to bed at 4 AM and had to get up at 8 AM before, so it's pretty messy).

But I think it's a brilliant way to see the bright side of things when you feel or are being told there isn't one. I mean, what's the bright side of having a strained upper back and not being able to tie my shoes without crying? Nothing, but being able to laugh with my mom about how she may have to tie my shoes like I'm in kindergarten is something to be thankful for, right?

Wishing you the best of luck

My Week in Photos ~5/10 - 5/17~

Hey guys!

So, this past week has been crazy for me! Edited Obsidian SUPER FAST, Mother's day, shopping, and lots of fun! Took some pics along the way, so here we go!!!

I have no idea why it's sideways... but went shopping with my mom twice, and got these super cute shoes! I love them!!!

For Mother's Day Dinner, mom wanted something she didn't have to cook or clean up. So daddy made his famous porkchops, and while me and Megan were putting the food away, the fork and porkchop got a little intimate. lol!

We went shopping again on Monday, and I picked up this amazing palette "The Color Grid" by Profusion for only $5.99 at Ross! No damage (unlike most of their stuff)

Along with these! OMG, the bikini balm TOTALLY works! And these makeup removal wipes were $2.99! Can't beat that!!!

Last night, I checked out Kandee Johnson's latest vid, and this is the first thing you see if you pause it to let it load, like I do. LOL!

And don't forget to check out Amazon tonight, because Obsidian will be OUT! Along with a newer, cooler, version of Glass!!! Watch my Facebook and Twitter and I'll let you know when they go live, and you can order the Kindel versions! It'll take a little longer for the paperback versions to come out, but it'll only be a matter of time. I'll let you know about them also!

So that's what my week's been like!!!

How was your Mother's Day???

My Week in Pics ~5/3- 5/10~

Hey Guys!

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I had a dinner planned and slept in...REALLY slept in!

But I've shot some pics, never fear!

The things I read for work!

Bethany Mota aka MacBarbie07 from Youtube has created a monster. This is the Cotton Candy Frappuccino, which is a Vanilla Bean with a pump of raspberry. OMG, it is SO good. Addicted! Especially since this week they have Frappuccino happy hour, where all fraps are 1/2 off from 3-5 PM!

I decided I needed some inspiration, so I'm rewatching this trilogy, the extended editions of course!

This is my new breakfast obsession: smoothies! Todays was particularly good!

At a business meeting at Starbucks, because they have free internet, and LA Knight's apartment doesn't have any. Oh, and there's the happy hour I told you about. Yup, we were there, during that time. This is LA's (the happy woman in the photo) frap, a strawberries and cream with the whipcream whipped in.

This is my favorite restaurant EVER! Mi Niditos, which means "my little nest" in Spanish, is THE best Mexican restaurant in the world! In fact, it was featured in "Man vs Food", it's that famous.
The picture below is my regular order, an order of ground beef tacos (3) with a side of beans. I usually drink Lemonade, if I haven't had too much sugar that day!

And while I writing this blog, my Relief Society President dropped by to give me this rose, randomly! Thanks!

That's my week! Have anything fun planned this weekend? I'm stuck moving boxes for my mom, but what about you? Let me know!

My Weekly Pics ~4/26 - 5/3~

Hey guys!

Okay, I don't have many pics, but I have some, I promise!

Here's what my week's been like!

Who screamed like a retarded fan girl when she saw her big brother bought this for himself, and then stole it and hasn't given it back yet? Me! ^^ Hee hee, he hasn't asked for it back yet...

Saturday, my sister Megan took me and her to the fair, and we had a TON of fun!

Since our pics at the fair turned out pretty blurry, I took another of my haircut. I love this dress, too! You may remember it from last fall here: http://lorienlobrien.blogspot.com/2012/08/my-week-in-photos-824-831.html

I have fallen in love with this eyeshadow! You can check out the rest of my monthly favs here: http://lorienlobrien.blogspot.com/2013/04/my-april-favorites-2013.html

So that was my week!

You do anything fun or crazy? Let me know in the comments!!
