HAPPY HALLOWEEN! My Weeks in Pics ~10/12 - 10/31~

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

My fav holiday is here! But while the kiddos are running amok tonight, me and my girls celebrated last Saturday. And instead of doing a special Halloween post like last year, I'm gonna do a special VIDEO, so make sure your subscribed to my YouTube Channel to see it tonight at 7 PM PST!

Anywho, onto what I've done the rest of this month! (Told you I'd be better at doing these!)

I went shopping and picked up a few things. The only thing of note from one shopping trip is the adorable owl chapstick from Forever 21. Not the greatest chapstick, but IT'S SO CUTE! ><
And then I was watching ke-sha Forsaken's book haul where she hauled The Blood of Olympus, and I had to have it. Also had to junk food, because I have the self discipline of a squirrel when it comes to sweets.

I fangirled hard when I found out WhittyNovels was following me on Tumblr.

Halloween decorations started in my room at the beginning of the month, so I could film with it, as well as just look at it. Favorite month and holiday, of course my room is glowing with pumpkins, owls, and whatever else I found at Target. :)

Me and my girls celebrated Halloween already by eating enough junk food for an army (seriously, Ray bought a laundry basket FULL of food!!!!)
Megan was The Tardis from Dr. Who, Ray is dressed as Thea on her date with Loki from her fanfic Darkness There, and Nothing, and I was a knight. I had to pull everything together in less than a day because of a family emergency that had me in Phoenix for about a week.

Went shopping again, picked up some more makeup, as well as Taylor Swift's 1989, Target Deluxe Edition. IT'S AMAZING! I've listened to the whole album about 30 times already, and I picked it up THIS WEEK!

While getting my cd, I found these romance novels. They're so corny, I had to take a picture to chuckle at :D

Had to save this picture from Tumblr. It's a post about reading, and how we need to accept each other and stop judging what others read. Then LA Knight, Ray, reblogged it with those tags. HILARIOUS! :D

Now for my home Halloween decorations. There's a lot, and it took 3 days (mostly because I kept putting some of it off, lol)

This is what the front entryway looks like, just waiting for Trick or Treaters! I have to admit, I do more inside than outside, but that's cuz I don't want grabby little ones to steal the adorable stuffed animals! The hand made witch by my Aunt Jean is with the teddy bears on my dresser sitting in the hallway. My current one is barely functioning, so I needed a new one, this one was free, but I'm dying to fix it up to look cool. When that happens I'll let ya'll know because my room will look very different :)
The reason I have a grim reaper on the other little table that's always sat by the door, in this house and our previous one, is because it's too scary for little ones. More than one parent was holding a little boy or girl in tears when I put it up last, so for the past 2 or so years it's been on the table, so the bigger kids can see it, bu the little ones can't.
And then just some pumpkins my grandfather gave to me (randomly he came home with 7 of them for me!) as well as a few other things are right by the door.

I told you we're lacking in the outside decor! Our door's simple this year because a. can't use the door hanging we have and b. last time I used fake webbing it was full of ants! Had to toss it. So our big spider, my "Are you a good witch or a bad witch?" hanging sign, and a witch picture are all I have to work with.
To light the path for the little ones I have some purple lights (I really need more, only got 1 box ><) as well as a pumpkin sign thingy that we were randomly gifted. And of course, our Trick or Treat giant bows are hanging form out lights outside, as well as our wooden bats are in our tree. I may put up the ghosty, but I haven't a clue where to put him...

Welp, that's it! I'm ready for tonight...mostly. We have a light up pumpkin by the door, but the lights went out, so I need to hit up Walmart down the road for more.

Oh, and if you saw that my car broke down, it was a loose hose. We just put it back on, filled up the radiator, and now it's fine! So I need to get dressed and head to Wallyworld.

Have a fun Halloween!

AND, for something spooky, I'll just post this video here, because it's my fav this time of year!

Monthly Favorites ~August 2014~

Hey guys!

So August has ended and September is here! Which means it's time to go over all of my favorites! Make sure to check out my YouTube channel HERE to see my Monthly Wrap Up focused on EVERYTHING I read this past month, not just my number 1 favorites.

BOOKS

Slaves of Socorro by John Flanagan

I am a HUGE John Flanagan fan. He hasn't written anything that I haven't loved! Seriously! His newest release is no different! It's fun, funny, a blast! I adored it!

Teen Titans: It's Our Right to Fight by Scott Lobdell, Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund

One of the MANY new 52 titles I read this past month, it's a stand out because of how fun it is. While many of the others were dark and twisted this was a blast and great fun! Reminds me a lot of Young Justice! I just hope it runs longer than the show did!

MOVIE

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

I managed to catch this just before it left the cheap theaters with my girl LA Knight! We both adored it so much she started another amazing fanfic about it! Also saw it another time...on YouTube. BE WARNED that one has about 5 minutes muted. -_-'
Expect this on DVD and Blu Ray soon!

TV SHOWS

Fullmetal Alchemist (original series)

This is the series that doesn't follow the manga very truly at all, but it's what got me into the manga back in the day! I actually missed several episodes and never got to see them, so it's been fun seeing the old stuff combined with new episodes entirely! (Watch this BEFORE you read the manga, otherwise you won't be able to finish unless your a diehard fan like myself)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars
The Lost Missions (season 6)

This is the first and only 12 episodes made for season 6, which never aired on TV due the transfer of the rights from Cartoon Network to Disney. It's on Netflix, and thanks to my girl LA Knight I'm now able to watch it! And it's GOOD! They TOTALLY set the stage for Episode III Revenge of the Sith. You see Anakin's downward spiral and they touch upon Order 66. I'm also not done with this, but I can't wait to get into it. I'll hopefully be done with it before Star Wars: Rebels (the movie) airs but probably not.

VIDEOS

LA Knight's Once Upon A Time Trailer
by Nicole Godard

This is for LA Knight's fanfic of the same name, which you can read HERE. It's a Hellboy Fanfic I've been editing as Beta for YEARS. Because it's AWESOME! And this vid is awesome too!!!

Shake It Off by Taylor Swift

I've had this video on repeat ever since I heard it. I've already listened to it at least once today and probably will hear it a million times more. I ADORE it! It's so funny, and Taylor said it was about how you can just shake off the haters, and she showed it by getting a bunch of professional dancers and then throwing herself into the mix. So funny, cute, and I adore the message (if not the twerking).

YOUTUBER

Novels and Nonsense
YouTube Channel HERE

Sam of Novels and Nonsense actually subscribed to me first thanks to a video where WhittyNovels told her followers to advertise their channels in the comments. I did and she subscribed after telling me that we were about the same age and had the same interests. Of course I was intrigued and I'm OBSESSED! She's funny, quirky and awesome. Love her! Zelda and Doctor Who fans, SUBSCRIBE TO HER TOO! She's so nice. :)

MUSIC

Happiness by Red Velvet

Like two days before I got into Shake It Off (which is, let's face it, the number 1 song of the month) I found this weirdo video that's as random as the image above. But it's incredibly catchy despite being in Korean (ya'll know I love K Pop). When I looked up the lyrics I found it's positive message of looking for happiness, not wealth and power, uplifting. And then I got addicted to it, and it was barely not number 1.

Chasing the Sun by Hilary Duff

Another song I heard via the music video (which ya'll should check out because it's hilarious and cute!). This I also found myself just humming along to and I've heard it a million times this month now!

Edge of a Revolution by Nickelback

This song doesn't have a video that I'm aware of (if I'm wrong, just let me know!) but I got into it because of Spotify. And despite the fact they say the S word 3 times I can't stop listening to it! It's really powerful and with all the drama in the media this past month I found it quite fitting. Helped my rage come out and not overwhelm me too much through the sadness in the media.

PERSON

Robin Williams

Sadly Robin Williams passed away this past month, a great tragedy. This image basically sums it all up.
If this has made you feel terribly sad and have some dark thoughts of your own, please check out my post about it HERE.
Rest In Peace, man. You were loved.

RANDOM

Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover

I have NEVER found a good eye makeup remover until now. This does have an oil base, and it isn't hypoallergenic, BUT! It's the ONLY eye makeup remover that hasn't hurt my eyes at ALL, it gets practically EVERYTHING off (unless I layer up my mascara, which is all but impossible to remove completely), and doesn't leave a sheen on my eyeball (which is FRUSTRATING!!!!). It's AWESOME! I love it! Yes, there's a bit of a shine on my eyelids after I use it, but that goes away after I wash my face in the morning. ADORE IT!

So that was everything I've been loving this month! Make sure to click my links, and be sure to subscribe on YouTube to see my videos, I upload 3 times a week (unless there's something going on, I may only get 1 up around Thanksgiving).

Find the Word Challenge-Collab with LA Knight (video)

Hey guys!

OH MAN! I had the hardest time today! First I woke up to NO internet, and wasn't sure when I'd get it back up. Luckily, it wasn't too long of a wait.

Then I had the HARDEST time trying to edit this video! I finally cut my main video (which was over 14 minutes long!) in half, and suddenly everything worked! Then, right as I was done, my internet died AGAIN! So FIVE hours late, it's up!

This is a collaboration with LA Knight, or Ray. I saw this challenge go through the bigger names of BookTube called "Find the Words" or something like that.

Basically using the first letters of book titles, you spell words out. Each book used is 1 point. You get 5 more points if the word you spell is over 5 letters long. And you can get 20 extra points if the word spelled out is a word in a book title that is used spell that word.

Katytastic got 139 points, the highest I've seen in her video here. LA Knight that score away with her video here. Watch LA's, then watch my video below!

My Week(s) in Pics ~4/5 - 4/18~

Hey guys!

Sorry for not being consistant about posting on here! Trying to balance life with YouTube, writing, editing and here's a bit of a challenge, but I'm up for it! I promise to keep doing these posts since I'm new to the camera, and trying to vlog sounds...intimidating. I'll probably start soon, but not right now. Maybe next year, or around Christmas? Would you guys like that? Let me know!

Anywho, onto the pictures of the last two weeks! I was so busy during #AYearAThon's Reread-A-Thon that there isn't much pics around then, but I did take a few. And of course there's my videos! Check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/user/lorien13

ONTO THE PHOTOS!

For everyone's birthday (except mine) we went to Bookman's, a used bookstore chain here in AZ. Everyone had $20...except me. I had $5, counting my coupon. This was all the books we wanted, but couldn't get.

And as you can see, I had trouble putting these 3 books back! I could only get one. I knew immediately which one it was, but putting these back, some of which I've wanted for YEARS was SO hard! :(

Saturday was moving day for my best friend Ray. She has over 2000 books! 2000!!! That's CRAZY! It took all day and way into the night to get almost all of them on the shelves! We only did it because my sister Megan really hurt herself, and I needed to be doing something to keep from going nuts. I also hurt my leg, and Ray hurt both of hers doing all this! We're just really out of shape and now Ray and me are fine. Megan will be, she's got an immobilizer on and her leg's already feeling better.

Speaking of Ray, or by her pen name, LA Knight, she won a contest on Figment! Hers is all the way to right. It's based on an event that really happened to her on April Fools, and why she hates pranks. So do I.

And guess who was in my email from Stila? Ingrid! Missglamorazzi loves Stila, and so she got to model for them! :)

Saw Mighty walking along on the wall just outside of the computer room! Had to take a picture! :3

Also got a video up early this morning! These are the Top Ten Books that Made Me Cry! Please like, comment and subscribe!

That's the past two weeks in pics!

Heading to see Divergent this weekend (no I haven't read it yet, watching the movie to see if I'll like it or not). What are your plans?

#AYEARATHON First Video

Hey Guys!

So...I did it. I posted my first video. The quality's terrible, but that's what I get for using a cheap camera. I have two more already filmed and the amazing LA Knight's already editing them into masterpieces. But this one I felt I needed to film and post ASAP...which meant I did it with my camera and my novice editing skills.

Anywho, enough about the quality. I've joined the Goodreads group #AYEARATHON, where we read together 1 book series all at once for a week. April 7th - 13th is Re-Read-A-Thon. I couldn't decide what series I wanted to re-read, so I let it fall to chance! Check it out below!

I'll be posting videos during that week, hopefully with a little better quality. Not sure if I can, since the other vids are being shot by LA Knight on her camera. But don't hold your breath. I'm broke, so buying a new camera is harder than me sawing my own arm off, or going on a shopping spree in New York City.

Let me know what you think of the video! Please give thumbs up and share!

FanFic Poem ~ Lily's Inner Tears

So, I was feeling pretty depressed and mad at myself for losing my temper (what else is new, right?). And I realised that instead of thinking in the mode of a story, which is freakish-normal for me, I was thinking in the terms of a poem.

So I decided to write a poem.

At first it was for me, and how I felt, but then I realised that it was more like how Lily feels.

Now, you all know by now that I'm the editor/beta for LA Knight, aka Ray, aka my bestie/best friend for all of eternity. And she's published several books now, two of which are from her Twilight Chessboard series. Well, if you haven't picked it up yet (shame on you! Unless you're from another coutry. Sadly Amazon won't ship outside of the US or Canada. Boo on you, Amazon!), Lily is the protaginist, or the badguy in the first two novels. She tears up peoples lives, as well as their bodies. And in more than one case, she kills them. Not personally, but they died because she said so.

Anywho, Lily Whitmoore is evil, evil, EVIL. Right?

Sort of. See, her father's the *real* nasty here. He abuses her, and so does her mother. She thinks terribly of herself because of it, and takes that out, which is what they taught her to do, literallly, on other people. Namely Jack, the male lead.

At the end of book 2 *SPOILER IF YOU CARE* she loses to Alyssa, the main character, and to save her life from her psychotic father, moves in with Alyssa. *END OF SPOILER THANK YOU*

So that's where this is coming from.

Also, please check it out on Figtment and give it a heart, if you would. 'Kay thanks!

Do you ever feel this?

Trapped, alone,
Lost, forsaken,
Unrecognized
Never gonna be good enough
Never can be good enough

Look in the mirror
See the flaws
Nod to yourself
That’s why no one cares

I see you

Happy
Loved
Cared for
Recognized

Everything I am not

Stupid failure
Stupid girl
Who’d want you

Abandoned by your mother
Your father, your brother
Your friend

My friend

He’s gone.
Gone
And he’s never coming back

Because I’m not good enough.

And I wonder
Do you ever feel this?

Of course not.

Because you have him.

My Months in Pics

Hey ya'll!

Sorry I haven't been posting this! And I know I promised one, but I was sick! I'm still sick :( BOO!

Anywho, I don't have many pics, since my hand was messed up, so taking photos wasn't possible for 2-3 weeks of this. But here's some!

I made a toy for the cats! Mighty really liked it. This is him after playing with it for about 15 minutes straight!

It was crazy hair day at work. So my dad's normally nice hair was like this when he came home. lol!

October 4th was Silly Socks for Jessica day. Three years ago on 10/4, my good friend Jessica passed away. She loved silly socks, and was terrified of never being remembered, so on this day, and her birthday, every year friends and family wear silly socks. The top pic is mine; then LA Knight, who was Jessica's sister-in-law; and the bottom is IK Scott.

RIP Jess, you'll never be forgotten, babe!
<3 p="">

So, remember how I told you Mighty loved my toy? Well, so did Strider. Look how he destroyed it! He really liked it! Oh well. At least it was well loved

Well!

That's it!

Except for...

LA Knight and I have a new project!!!

Do you know what it is???

Trapped & Breaking and Entering

Okay, so I didn't take any pics this week because I've been focusing on doing mini-workouts every day (which is helping my back and my waistline), and getting my girls over here. Didn't take pics then either because we had a lot of stuff to do, and barely got anything done. Oh well, we had a ton of fun anyway!

But I wrote a poem that I took down because it is very dark, but it's expressing my emotions about my current jobless, hardworking and underappreciated state. By itself it's just super depressing and not worth mentioning, but I finally shared it with LA Knight, who, in her brilliance, wrote a reply poem. Both are well written, but her reply just touched me so much, I had to share it.

So here's my poem:

Trapped

It's like the walls are closing in
This invisible cage that has held me for far too long
It holds me still
The dream of freedom taunts me
Every time I think I see a glimpse of light
A way out of this infernal abyss that has captured me and drags me down
It’s a trick
There is no freedom
There is no escape
My taunters continue to pressure me
Telling me that all I have to do is try
I have tried. And tried. And tried and tried and tried and tried and tried.
It’s all lies and fakeness
I can’t get out.
Just trapped in this caged that has held me
I’m fed the lie that this will make me a better person
That my time in here will make my world brighter
But how can it be better when I’m blinded?
How can I be something more
When this darkness will stain and hold me
Keeping me apart of it forever
How can I be better
If the foundations that have kept me alive for so long
And through so much
Is destroyed by this darkness I can’t escape
I’m tired of lies
And that’s all it is
Lies lies lies lies lies lies lies
Everyone’s lying
There’s no escape
And no one can hear me screaming

Dark, eh? But wonderful LA wrote this back:

Breaking and Entering

Crowbars made of Glass

Obsidian tire-irons

Garnet lock-picks and jimmies

Keys made of Bones

I've got my kit ready; I just need a car

I could go on foot, but I might keel over and die in the heat

And then where would the mission be?

There it is

The cage of lies

Is she in there still?

There

I see her

A piece of my heart

My sister

All righty, then

Time to kick some Adversarial

Assumptions

Like how I'm going to let the Lone Power

Screw with my sister

Just because I'm a chunky frumptastic homeless bag-lady

And dying of plague half the time

Plague-zombies can be good guys too, after all

If I did keel over,

And became a shambling corpsely frat-boy—

—erm, I mean  girl—

Would it be in bad taste if I told Satan to bite me?

Cage bars are thick today

Like that's gonna stop me

Ew, thorns

Ow…

Whatever

I got gloves

I can handle angst-thorns and depression-spikes

Let's—do—this

And here…we…go…

Smash the tiny black glass windows to let in the light

Screaming and yelling doesn't last forever

And if it comes back,

We'll hit it with aluminum bats

And pretend the contention is a pack of Boojums

Like in Glass

(We'll even see if they moo like cows,

Though why they would is beyond me…)

Pry open the doors with our crowbars made of stories
Bend and shatter cold iron bars with our words

Snap the shackles of self-doubt with the proof of what we have created

Rewrite imprisonment into genius

With our sweat and blood and tears

That was how Warrior was forged, after all

Out of pain and depression and sorrow

Came an epic adventure

That is truth

(And don’t you forget it, babe)

People talk about trying

"If you just try"

Well what do they call this?

Who else walks into a combat zone

Armed with razor-sharp pens

(Because they are mightier than the sword)

And shields of printed words on bright paper
With armor forged from a thousand
dreams and words and worlds

Where we are queens and goddesses?

We'd like to see all you "just-try-ers"

Try THAT

We did

We tried it

Not just that

We did it

And we Rocked

Now here comes another battlefield

Old news

We've done this a million times

Here's your crown

I love emeralds; they make you look like

My Elf Queen Duckie

(complete with archery upgrade)

Galadriel ain't got nothing on you

Here's your sword

You don't need a shield

I'm right here

(And I'm not going anywhere)

Try?

Psht

Whatever

We did try

And we succeeded

Who's ready to kick more literary butt?

My Week in Photos ~5/10 - 5/17~

Hey guys!

So, this past week has been crazy for me! Edited Obsidian SUPER FAST, Mother's day, shopping, and lots of fun! Took some pics along the way, so here we go!!!

I have no idea why it's sideways... but went shopping with my mom twice, and got these super cute shoes! I love them!!!

For Mother's Day Dinner, mom wanted something she didn't have to cook or clean up. So daddy made his famous porkchops, and while me and Megan were putting the food away, the fork and porkchop got a little intimate. lol!

We went shopping again on Monday, and I picked up this amazing palette "The Color Grid" by Profusion for only $5.99 at Ross! No damage (unlike most of their stuff)

Along with these! OMG, the bikini balm TOTALLY works! And these makeup removal wipes were $2.99! Can't beat that!!!

Last night, I checked out Kandee Johnson's latest vid, and this is the first thing you see if you pause it to let it load, like I do. LOL!

And don't forget to check out Amazon tonight, because Obsidian will be OUT! Along with a newer, cooler, version of Glass!!! Watch my Facebook and Twitter and I'll let you know when they go live, and you can order the Kindel versions! It'll take a little longer for the paperback versions to come out, but it'll only be a matter of time. I'll let you know about them also!

So that's what my week's been like!!!

How was your Mother's Day???
