My Weeks in Pics ~4/1 - 4/10~

I've been a lot better at taking pictures this month, so I have to break this post into multiple. Just in the first 10 days I took quite a few!

So here's what I was up to!

The month kicked off with me getting really sick, and these were all the pills I had to take, just at night, to survive. It was brutal! Luckily my morning meds weren't so numerous.

These are the two kitties that I sometimes help out at my maid job! I play with them or brush them, and always get their fur out of everything! Mac is the top one (and was very curious as to what my cell phone was) and Dora is the bottom one. Mac is wild and crazy, Dori is shy and sweet. Both are adorable!

So I've been bad about checking my email, and discovered that I got a lot of email birthday wishes, including this one I missed until the beginning of this month. I thought this one from Funimation was cute.

I am apart of the Kellogg's family, meaning I rack up points and get music for free! (Or mostly free) I've been getting the different tracks of Skillet's album Rise, which I think is their best yet!

The gift I got from my brother was this Twilight Princess inspired makeup from Dusk Cosmetics. Yes, they are that pretty, and even more so. I've used the light purple and so far it's been fantastic! You can use them dry or wet (meaning your brush/sponge applicator is wet with setting spray) and both time it's beautiful! I found applied the color rather sheer, as they are all VERY glittery, but just beautiful! Plus, the two little bags are sample sizes of two more eyeshadows that were a free bonus! I just love them, and the stickers on the bottoms are gorgeous!
You can check out her store on Etsy HERE

The same day those came in, I hit 300 followers on my Tumblr! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!! I'm so thrilled anyone follows me! If you want to see my full thank you, check out this post here!

So that's what I was doing at the beginning of the month! I hope you enjoyed this!

Books-Cupcakes Book Photo Challenge ~March Part 2~

Okay, so I promised this a week ago. SORRY! #AYearAThon started, so I've been distracted. It wrapped up an hour ago, so let's do this!

January Part 1  January Part 2  February Part 1  February Part 2  March Part 1

Day 16: Sequel Please
It wasn't until I was into BookTube that I learned that Stephenie Meyer originally intended The Host to be book 1 of a trilogy, but then the Midnight Sun debacle happened. In case you're unaware, someone close to Mrs. Meyer released Midnight Sun--a version of Twilight from Edward's perspective--online without her permission.
When that happened she did what I probably would: she stopped releasing anything. Seriously, she hasn't done a thing for years and years. And she may never release anything ever again. Her writing is now 100% private, and the trilogy is basically canceled. But I'd still love a sequel, and am pretty pissed that a "friend" released her stuff for a price. Way to ruin it for all of us, loser.

Day 17: Newspaper/Magazine
I've been collecting Shonen Jump magazine, the american version of Jump magazine from Japan, since 2004. I have 84 of these guys, and haven't read all of them, but I wouldn't be a manga fan, or a true anime fan, if I hadn't found these during the last big move of my life.
Please excuse the blurry first photo, I was too excited and didn't take enough photos to wait for a good one.

Day 18: Makes Me Smile
I still can't get over my mom buying the limited edition of Harry Potter for me, and that alone makes me smile. Also I finally have all of HP in hardback original cover, although they're in terrible quality and many of them should be replaced (especially 1 and 2, 1 has a coffee stain and smells like cigarettes and 2 has no dust jacket).
But honestly having these two makes me smile.
Pictured: Harry Potter by JK Rowling

Day 19: Author
I've met several authors, have pictures of 2. On top is the amazing Marissa Meyer, author of the awesome Lunar Chronicles. She's so sweet and patient and awesome.
The bottom is, of course, LA Knight, my bestie Ray. She's amazing and awesome and I honestly don't know why such a great writer and person is my friend.

Day 20: Book Cover
Why I wanted this set: THE COVERS ARE AMAZING!!!! Seriously! They're so pretty! I couldn't show it, but the backs are phenomenal too!

Day 21: Avoiding
While I enjoyed book 1, and love the movies, while I love both versions of Bourne, The Bourne Identity was a beast, and this is a beast. All the books are beasts. They're huge and long and take forever to read. I'm currently in the middle of several beasts already, so I've been avoiding book 2.
Pictured: The Bourne Supremacy by Robert Ludlum

Day 22: Pet Peeve
How I have 200 different book sizes. I hate it. They should all be the same stinking size, but no. Because books aren't all the same price they aren't all the same size. But my OCD hate it, and I hate it because if they're all the same size it's easy to fit them all in smaller space.

Day 23: New and Old
In case ya'll don't know, I'm a maniac and decided to buy a bunch of copies of The Lord of the Rings. Here all my different copies of Return of the King. Fun fact: the older copies are newer to me. Nice play on the idea of this theme.
Pictured: The Return of the King by JRR Tolkien

Day 24: Up Next
I finally got through Jedi Apprentice 6: The Uncertain Path. While I ended up moving onto Fairest and a bunch of comics and manga, I did pick this up and finished rereading it. It was definitely on my list of to read very soon.
Pictured: Jedi Apprentice The Captive Temple by Jude Watson

Day 25: Swoon
These are my collective editions of classics that I own. First is the Barnes and Nobel edition of Little Princess I found for half price at Bookmans, and then the Hallmark Gift Books. There's only 3 more of those editions that I want to buy (and like 80 of the B&N editions). My mother gifted The Secret Garden to me while I found Alice in Wonderland at the same time and place as LP.
Pictured: A Little Princess and The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Day 26: Book and Candle
When I smell/see my Oceanside candle I think of Yoko waking up in a new world with an ocean unlike the one back home. When I think of spices like Nutmeg I think of royalty, such as Trickster's Queen. When I think of sundress and spring I think of fashion and fashionistas, like Cornelia. When I think of pumpkin I think of pumpkin patches, like Hagrid's.
Pictured: Bath and Bodyworks mini candles with Sea of Shadow by Fuyumi Ono, Trickster's Queen by Tamora Pierce, World's Apart by Elizabetta Gnone and Elizabeth Lenhard, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling

Day 27: Book Stack
These are all of the books stacked up so my stuff can fit on my shelves (for the record I have another one in my closet that keeps growing). As you can see, there are a lot. Cuz I'm out of room. yaayy...
Pictured: a lot of books. If you want to know about a single books let me know!

Day 28: Blog/Site
On Tumblr I showed this blog, but this is my Tumblr blog (made really small so ya'll can really see it cuz my monitor is the size of a postage stamp). It's pretty and purple and all about books and kitties! With a little bit of random other things like politics and Legend of Zelda.

Day 29: Outside
This a place I rarely go cuz ugh, sun, and BUGS! Also allergens and blegh. BUT! I went outside into my mom's lovely garden that the world's too hot for us to appreciate more of, and snapped this photo. For the record those roses are hella red, even if the camera didn't pick the color up well.
Pictured: Outlander (Collector's Edition) by Diana Gabaldon

Day 30: Freebie
This is the stack of books in my closet (although it's only grown since then). Because this exists is one of the several reasons I put myself on a book buying ban, the main reason being because I need to save my mulla. But I'm totally out of room. I have books on top of my shelves, and books sitting on their spins on top of other books and other things like that. I'm so out of room it's beyond frustrating. I need to move out and get my own shelves...but that requires a job, which I'll be attempting to get this week.

Day 31: Read This Month
This is smaller than I wanted it to be, as it's most filled with manga and graphic novels, as usual. I'm attempting to change that this month, by picking up more books and less comics/comics/graphic novels.
Pictured: Pokemon Vol 5 by Hidenori Kusaka and Mato, The Uncertain Path by Jude Watson, A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, Jedi Academy by Jeffry Brown, The Power of Five by Elizabetta Gnone, Saints by Gene Luen Yang, Fairest by Marissa Meyer, The Rift Part 1 by Gene Luen Yang, Batman: Arkahm Asylum by Grant Morrison and Dave McKean, Batman: Arkahm City by Paul Dini and Carlos D'Anda, ElfQuest: The Searcher and the Sword by Wendy and Richard Pini
Not Pictured: The Edge and the Light by Queenie-Chan, Carswell’s Guide to Being Lucky by Marissa Meyer, From Far Away Vols 5-8 by Kyoko Hikawa, ElfQuest: Dreamtime and A Gift of Her Own both by Wendy and Richard Pini

So that's it! I'll hopefully be posting later this week my April Part 1, so look forward to that! I also have acquired quite a few pictures for this month so far, so a new My Weeks in Pics will be coming soon too! But I have a lot on my plate this week so try to be patient with me.

Books-Cupcakes Book Photo Challenge ~March Part 1~

Sorry I didn't post this on time! I lost my camera mid-month and started experimenting my cell, because that was ALL I have to work with now. I'm currently saving up to get another camera, a big powerful one. I think i can do it...I have $80 already. I'm not buying any more books, and I have until the end of May to get it for ComiCon, which I really want to vlog. My cell wouldn't last me walking through the artist galley completely.

So some of these pictures aren't the greatest, as it took quite some time to figure out how to hold my cell and a flashlight at the same time (otherwise it was blurry).

Follow me on Tumblr to see these posts the days I post them!

January Part 1 January Part 2 February Part 1 February Part 2
March Part 2 - Coming Soon!

Day 1: Last Book I Read
Pictured: The Uncertain Path by Jude Watson

It took me FOREVER to get into this book, because I remembered the ending wrong. I started this at the end of February, and continued it throughout the month.

Day 2: Recommendation
Pictured: Wicked Lovely, Fragile Eternity, Radiant Shadows, Darkest Mercy by Melissa Marr
Not Pictured in the series: Ink Exchange and Desert Tales

This is all but 1 of the books in the Wicked Lovely series. I love this series, even though it can get really dark and heavy at times. I've always loved fairies thanks to Tinkerbell, and then learning more about the serious myths of the fae through the Sevenwaters Series. This a different approached to the European myths, but keeps the dark and twisted natures of the "Good Folk". It ends brilliantly with a happy ending for everyone.

Day 3: Quote
Pictured: Fullmetal Alchemist Vol 2 by Hiromu Arakawa

Pictured is one of the most heartbreaking quotes in FMA. It's after a tragic character death.
Mustang says to Edward, "Even though people call you a 'dog of the military' and a 'devil,' it was you who chose to keep studying alchemy. You chose to join the military, when you could have lived the rest of your life as best you can with the body you have. Can you afford to be held back by something so small?"
Edward replies, " 'Something so small?' You're right. People may call us dogs or devils, but Al and I will get our bodies back. But we're not devils or gods. We're humans. We can't even save one little girl."

Day 4: Reading Place
Pictured: Fullmetal Alchemist Vol 2 by Hiromu Arakawa, and A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

Yes, I read, eat, and basically stay the entire time I'm awake on the computer. When I'm reading I'm either listening to music which I can only do that on the computer since my stereo broke, or watching YouTube videos which I can only do on the computer. I'm currently watching YouTube videos on my family's computer while typing this on mine. And yes, there are two books to my left.

Day 5: Someone Reading

Yeah, I didn't take this. I'd just lost my cameras (yes, two of them broke down the same day -_-+), and was struggling with my cell. So I broke down and found a picture online.

Day 6: Spine
Pictured: Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan, and The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black

I love it when book series spine's form a picture. These were the only two I had until later on. They're so pretty!

Day 7: Borrowed
Pictured: Boxers and Saints by Gene Luen Yang; The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson; Red Hood and the Outlaws: Death of the Family by Scott Lobdell, Fabian Nicieza, and Timothy Green II

These were all the books I had borrowed from the library! I have two books less, and two movies more. :)

Day 8: Guilty Pleasure
Pictured: W.i.t.c.h. Books 1-10, 14 and 15 by Elizabeth Lenhard; Secrets of the Jedi, History of the Jedi by Jude Watson; Jedi Apprentice 1 by Dave Wolverton; Jedi Apprentice Books 2-20, Jedi Quest 1-4, Last of the Jedi 1-6, Star Wars Journals Anakin and Padme by Jude Watson

Yes, I did repeat a picture, no, I don't care. The closest thing to a guilty pleasure I have is that I read books most 2nd graders would like, but I'm pretty shameless about it.

Day 9: Book Haul
Pictured: Harry Potter Special Edition Box Set by JK Rowling

The only books I had at the time to show hadn't arrived yet. For my birthday on the 27th my mom purchased the special edition of Harry Potter! And for just over $70! Compared to the original $100 price, that's a good deal! :)

Day 10: Currently Reading
Pictured: W.i.t.c.h. The Power of Friendship by Elizabetta Gnone, A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor

I was currently reading all of these, and have since read all but Dreams of Gods and Monsters. Yeah, that book is taking forever.

Day 11: Signed
Pictured: Found by Nikki Anne Schmutz; Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa; Fairest, Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress by Marissa Meyer

Found was signed by the author when I bought it for like, a dollar. It's a cute book, but I'm not sure I want to own it. I may give it to the library sale, but for now it's on my shelf. My FMA volume 1 is signed by Vic Mignognia, the voice actor for Edward Elric. Got that signature on my 21st birthday, which was a lot funner than getting a hangover (I don't believe in drinking). And all of the Lunar Chronicles is signed by Marissa Meyer. If you want to know more about that experience watch my vlog.

Day 12: Bookish Place

That mess is what it looks like when I film. My shelves are straight (except for the spots where the books shown are pulled from), but everything else is chaos. My books sit wherever I manage to put them, my jewelry is removed at once and sits in a pile to the side, my notes go wherever I put them, and there's the stack of books my cell sits on top of because I don't have a stand for it. It's a mess every time, but you can't tell in my videos.
The video I filmed was the first part of my March Book Haul.

Day 13: Fandom

This is a picture from ComiCon 2012, and it's two cosplayers are Ichigo Kurosaki and Rikia Kuchiki from Bleach. That's my favorite fandom. Book fandoms tend to fight, and anime fandoms tend to look down on others who aren't a big enough fan, or are too much of a nerd. It's ridiculous. I haven't run into that problem in the Bleach fandom (yet).

Day 15: Couldn't Finish
Pictured: Justice League of America Vol 1 by Geoff Johns and David Finch

First of all, yes, I skipped day 14, I was in the middle of the camera nightmare, where two died on me on the same day (-_-) and it was keeping me from being creative enough to get "Yummy".
Anywho, I did not like this at all. I didn't like the style, or the characters I was meeting, it wasn't gelling with other volumes, I just didn't like it. So I DNF'd it (did not finish) and gave it back to the library.

Alrighty! That's the first half of March! Expect March part 2 soon!
:)
